In the processing of electronic waste PCBs, a reliable mechanical separation and recovery system enables the effective separation of copper from non-metallic materials, reduces labour costs, and simultaneously improves copper recovery rates and purity; it is also one of the fundamental configurations for entering the electronic waste recycling sector.

Crushing and Disintegration System

The entire production line begins with a twin-shaft shredder, which performs preliminary crushing of the whole PCB. Operating at low speed with high torque, the equipment tears the PCB boards into small pieces, reducing the material size to facilitate subsequent processing.

The material then enters a hammer mill, where high-speed impact further refines the material, gradually separating the copper foil from the resin substrate. The key to this stage lies in ‘thorough separation’ rather than mere fine crushing, as this directly impacts the effectiveness of subsequent sorting.

Following this, the material enters the grinding system, where the mixture is further processed into uniform particles or even a powdery state, creating the conditions for precise sorting.

Once crushing is complete, the material enters the air classification system. Through the action of airflow, lightweight dust is separated from heavier particles, providing an initial removal of non-metallic impurities.

Subsequently, the core process—the electrostatic separation system—begins. By utilising differences in electrical conductivity, copper powder is separated from non-metallic powders, achieving high-purity recovery. This process requires no chemical treatment; it is a purely physical separation method, operates stably, and is suitable for continuous production.

The combination of multi-stage separation ensures more thorough copper recovery, whilst reducing metal carry-over issues and improving overall resource utilisation.

Equipment Configuration and Application Value

The PCB recycling production line developed by SUNY GROUP features a clear structure with seamless integration between equipment, enabling continuous and stable operation. Centred on mechanical separation, the entire line avoids the environmental pressures associated with complex chemical processing, making it suitable for small and medium-sized recycling enterprises.

From an application perspective, this equipment is not only suitable for waste printed circuit boards but can also process certain types of electronic component waste, providing raw materials for subsequent further processing or sale.

From an operational standpoint, the key to PCB recycling lies not in the performance of individual machines but in the coordination of the entire line and the precision of the sorting process. Equipment with a standardised structure and clear processes is also better suited to achieving stable output and long-term operation.
