Separate Recycling Machine for ACSR Cable
ACSR cables (aluminum-clad steel Core Cables) are widely used in high-voltage transmission lines, especially in scenarios spanning long distances or high-voltage requirements. Its main structure consists of an aluminum-covered steel core, a design that allows the cable to have both high electrical conductivity and sufficient strength to withstand external pressures. However, with the replacement of power equipment, the recycling of ACSR cables has become an important environmental issue.
Separate Recycling Machine for ACSR Cable
For the recycling of ACSR cables, SUNY GROUP has developed a specialized separation and recycling machine. The working principle relies on several efficient physical separation methods, including mechanical shearing, magnetic, and gravity separation. First, the mechanical shearing and crushing section cuts the entire cable, reducing its size for subsequent processing. Next, the steel core part is separated from the aluminum core by magnetic separation technology, because the steel core is sensitive to magnetic field, while the aluminum is not affected. Finally, the aluminum and steel are further separated by gravity sorting technology, based on the difference in material density, making the recycling process more delicate and efficient.
The entire process of separation and recovery typically consists of four key steps: feeding, shearing, sorting, and collection. During the feeding stage, ACSR cables are fed through an automated system into a shredding facility. The ensuing shredding process breaks the cables into smaller pieces, which facilitates the subsequent sorting operation. The sorting stage is the core of the entire recycling process. Magnetic and gravity sorting techniques enable precise separation of metal fractions made of different materials. Finally, the recovered aluminum and steel are collected separately through an automatic collection system, which facilitates subsequent reuse.
