Equipment Structure and Crushing Process
This equipment is a bespoke twin-shaft crushing system employing a dual-shaft counter-rotating shear mechanism to tear and perform primary crushing of scrap metal. The unit is to be installed in Sri Lanka for the processing of mixed scrap metal, including stainless steel and copper-clad steel pipes. Following feeding, the material is formed into uniform lumps, preparing it for subsequent screening.
Rotary Screening System and Particle Size Control

The equipment incorporates a rotary screening system with a screen mesh size of 30 mm, achieving continuous grading through rotary motion. After undergoing multiple stages of shearing and crushing, the material enters the screening zone; particles meeting the required size are discharged directly, whilst those that do not are automatically recirculated for further crushing, forming a closed-loop cycle. This design ensures a more stable output particle size and reduces over-crushing. The equipment has a processing capacity of approximately 500–1,000 kg/h, which varies depending on the type of material.
Applications and Operational Features
Suitable for scrap steel crushing and pre-treatment in metal recycling processes, it enhances the efficiency of downstream magnetic separation and sorting. The dual-shaft system operates in tandem with the screening system, improving operational stability and reducing the need for manual intervention.
