The fiber cutting machine uses a rotary cutting blade and a fixed blade to cut long fibers into shorter sections. The cutting length can be adjusted according to the requirements of the next processing stage. The standard cutting range is 5–150 mm, while the larger SMC-3200F model can process materials at 10–300 mm cutting lengths.
The machine can process a variety of materials, including: Polyester fiber, Nylon fiber, Yarn waste, Textile waste, Old clothes, Carpet and curtain waste, Hemp rope, Plant fibers, and other soft and fibrous materials.
For polyester fiber recycling and yarn waste recycling, controlling the output fiber length can be important because the processed material may need to enter subsequent sorting, blending, recycling, or manufacturing processes.
Different production requirements can be matched with different models of fiber cutting equipment. The available models have processing capacities from approximately 100 kg/h to 1,500 kg/h.
For example, a small-scale textile waste recycling operation may only require a machine with a capacity of around 100–200 kg/h, while larger recycling facilities processing several hundred kilograms per hour may require a larger model.

The main purpose of the machine is not simply to make fiber waste smaller, but to produce a more manageable and relatively consistent material size for the next process. This is particularly useful when long polyester fibers or yarn waste need to be prepared before further recycling.

For a polyester fiber recycling project, the required cutting length should be determined by the downstream process. For yarn waste recycling, the feeding condition and fiber length should also be considered because tightly tangled or bundled yarn may behave differently from loose fiber waste.
