Waste Tire Recycling Machine for Rubber and Steel Recovery
The waste tyre shredding and recycling production line utilises a tyre shredder, a fine crusher, steel cord separation equipment, and a screening system to process waste tyres into recyclable materials such as rubber granules, steel cord, and fibres. It is suitable for the resource recovery of waste tyres and the production of recycled rubber.
Waste Tire Recycling Machine for Rubber and Steel Recovery
Waste Tyre Shredder: Performs the initial shredding of tyres
The entire production line begins by processing waste tyres through the tyre shredder. The equipment utilises a twin-shaft shearing structure, with two cutting shafts working in concert. Rotating blades tear, compress and shear the tyres, processing the entire tyre into relatively large rubber chunks.
The primary function of the tyre shredder is to reduce the difficulty of subsequent processing and to provide suitable feed conditions for fine crushing and steel cord separation. For tyres of varying sizes, the equipment can be configured according to tyre specifications, processing capacity and output requirements.
In actual production, the size of the rubber blocks directly affects the efficiency of subsequent conveying, fine crushing and separation. Therefore, during the initial crushing stage, one should not focus solely on the equipment’s output; consideration must also be given to the uniformity of the output and the degree to which the steel cord is exposed.

Rubber Fine Crushing and Steel Cord Separation: Improving Material Recovery Efficiency
Following preliminary shredding, the tyre chunks proceed to the further crushing and steel cord separation stages. Fine crushing equipment uses mechanical action to further reduce the size of the rubber chunks, gradually separating the steel cords from the rubber within the tyres.
The production line can be equipped with steel cord separation equipment, magnetic separation units and vibrating screens. Among these, magnetic separation equipment is primarily used to recover magnetic tyre steel cords, whilst screening equipment classifies the processed material according to particle size.
It should be noted that not all steel cord within the tyres is completely separated from the rubber after a single crushing cycle. For tyre blocks with a high steel cord content, multiple cycles of crushing, screening, and cyclic separation are typically required to improve the steel cord recovery rate and reduce metal residues in the rubber granules.

Rubber Granule Screening and End-Product Applications
Once crushing and separation are complete, the rubber material enters the screening system, where it is graded according to the particle size specified by the customer. Different screen mesh specifications correspond to different rubber granule products; larger particles remaining after screening can be returned to the crushing stage for further processing.
When properly configured, the production line can convert waste tyres into products such as rubber granules, rubber powder and recovered steel cord. Reclaimed rubber can be used in applications such as rubber floor mats, sports surfaces, playground surfacing and modified bitumen.
The actual output of the production line, particle size, steel cord separation efficiency and final rubber purity depend on the equipment configuration, tyre type, feed size and operating conditions. Therefore, when selecting equipment, the number of crushing stages, screening specifications and separation methods should be determined in accordance with the target output and intended use of the finished products, rather than simply increasing the number of machines.
